Manchester legends Happy Mondays returned to Northampton to headline a sold-out gig at Royal & Derngate. The band's 13-song set was mainly made up of tracks from 1988 album Bummed and its successor Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches. Now in their fourth decade together, the Mondays sounded better than they probably ever have done - even if Ryder isn't as mobile as he used to be. Support was by Inspiral Carpets and Stereo MC's.
