Fairport Convention’s Cropredy Contention took place over three days this week. The festival, held on the border of Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire is one of the real success stories of this region in a summer which has seen both Alt-Fest and Another World festivals cancelled. It sold out its 20,000 capacity in advance of the festival and plans are already under way for next year’s event. A lot of festival organisers could learn a few lessons from Cropredy’s approach to things.
