Ride, Lemondaze – Esquires, Bedford

Shoegaze legends Ride kicked off their UK tour with a warm-up gig at Esquires in Bedford.

The band is touring the UK in support of their 1990 album Nowhere, which they played in full as well as selection of other classics.

There was a very justified amount of hype around the show, which sold out in about 10 seconds when tickets went on sale earlier this year. Esquires was packed to see the acclaimed Oxford quartet play probably the smallest venue you’re ever likely to see them in.

Ride were amazing and it was incredible to see the absolute masters of their genre headline.

The gig followed Andy Bell’s visit to the venue last year when he brought his Space Station project to Esquires, opening for Stereolab.

Support was by the ace Lemondaze who are also definitely worth checking out. They released their debut EP Celestial Bodies last year. For more information, visit https://lemondaze.bandcamp.com

Great work by everyone at Esquires for making this gig happen. More photos from gigs at Esquires are available on this site here.

Ride recently announced reissues of their early LPs and EPs which are available to pre-order now. For more information, visit https://www.thebandride.com
